
Sophomore Ben De Lemos also competed, going 2-2 and falling one match short of the 3rd place match. The top 4fourfinishers in the event automatically qualify for Super 32. Sophomore Brendan Noetzel battled back to finish 4th. Senior Jacob Mazey finished second, falling to Haddock in the finals 1-0. Returning UIL state placer, Adam Lindberg, UIL state alternate, Jake Johnson and 2x UIL regional placer, Cameron Haddock all captured titles at the event. Six Dragon wrestlers made the trip to Houston. The tournament will host the nation’s best high school wrestlers who have qualified for the event through placing in their respective state tournaments, early qualifying tournaments or through a wild card process. Loras and Wartburg will be sending a conference-best seven wrestlers each to the 2019 NCAA Division III National Wrestling Championship, held March 8-9 at the Berglund Center in Roanoke, Va. Coe has three wrestlers advancing to Roanoke, followed by Central with two. TJ Miller of Loras was voted Lower Midwest Regional Tournament Head Coach of the Year and assistant Loras coach Trevor Kittleson was named Lower Midwest Regional Tournament Assistant Coach of the Year. Wartburg College's Brock Rathbun (133lbs.) was named Outstanding Wrestler of the Lower Midwest Regional Tournament. Central had one individual winner and took third-place in the team race with 119.5 points. Loras crowned three individual champions to finish with 151.5 points and take second as a team. The Knights claimed four individual championships on their way to 169.5 team points. The American Rivers Conference claimed 23 of the 30 national qualifying spots available to the Lower Midwest Region. 1-ranked Wartburg College wrestling team captured their seventh-consecutive NCAA Division III Regional Championship Sunday, February 24 at the Five Flags Center in Dubuque, Iowa.
